 | Job Done......by the Local Conservatives |
 |

BEFORE AFTER
One of the most frequent concerns raised whilst talking to residents in South Warrington is the dreadful state of our roads. Fragmented and often with dangerous potholes. Just recently a local resident had a story that was "a hole lot" worse than usual. Mrs Maureen Heaton of Walton contacted the Council in July 2006 to report a large pothole by the manhole cover in her road. Although the road was quiet, the hole was a serious health & safety hazard to both pedestrians and children. And increasingly noisy as cars hit the crater. The Council reacted fast with a team on site within a week. Only to say it was North West Water's responsibility. The following week a customer satisfaction form was received. Lots of boxes to tick. One problem. Whoever's responsibility it was, nothing was done about the hole! In the last year it has got larger and noisier and more dangerous. And so the local Conservatives fixed it at least on a temporary basis. Hopefully the Council or North West Water will also turn up soon.
UPDATE 10 August:
Due to the local Conservatives' action, and extensive press coverage, the Council arranged for contractors to tarmac over the man hole cover!
UPDATE 14 August:
Wide press coverage. Contractors have now repaired the road.
Job finally done.

A happy resident, thanks to local Conservatives.
