Cllr Paul Kennedy

Representing the Hatton, Stretton & Walton Ward on Warrington Borough Council

Paul Kennedy is a former businessman, having been a senior manager and director of a number of manufacturing and distribution businesses. Paul is a University of Manchester graduate with a First Class Honours Degree in Business and IT. He is married to Sue and they have two Sons. He has lived in Warrington since 1987, was born in Oxford and grew up in Coventry and South Manchester.

He was elected on to Warrington Borough Council in May 2008. His main Council interests are Finance and Governance and he has been a Member of the Audit & Corporate Governance Committee since being first elected, and was the Committee’s Deputy Chairman in 2010. He has been a Member of the Economy and Resources and Children, Young People and Skills Overview & Scrutiny Committees, the Traffic Committee and is currently a Member of the Appeals Committee. He has served on the Corporate Parenting Forum, and currently serves on the Constitutional Sub-Committee, the Polling Review Working Group, the Winter Service Working Group, Waste Services Working Group, Walton Estate Liaison Group, Allotments Executive Board Task Force and the Stronger Together Neighbourhoods in Warrington South Area Board.

As a Council appointee, he has served on the Boards of Warrington Community Transport (Dial a Ride), Cheshire Community Action and Warrington Borough Transport where he was able to provide accounting and management advice and support in order to improve the performance of the organisations.

Paul has also Chaired a Complaints Panel that investigated and reported to the Department of Health on cases involving death and alleged serious service failure in the NHS.

He is the Conservative Party’s election agent for the Warrington South Constituency.
