Cllr Sheila Woodyatt MBE

Representing Lymm Ward on Warrington Borough Council

Sheila Woodyatt is a former primary school teacher. She is married to Neville and they have four children and six grandchildren.

She was elected to Lymm Parish Council in May 1979, Warrington Borough Council in May 1983 and also served on Cheshire County Council from May 1989 until May 2008. Her main Council interests are Education, especially early years, Children’s Social Care, Youth Services, Housing, Planning and Environment.

Sheila has many community interests. She is a member of the Management Committee of the Warrington and Widnes Blind Society, Chairman of Trustees of Warrington and District Citizens Advice Bureau, Chair of Mission in the Economy and represents WBC on the Golden Gates Housing Trust, is Chairman of Warrington SACRE, a member of the Drugwatch Trust, a member of Lymm Environment and Heritage Group, Lymm Clothing Charity and a member of St Peter’s Church, Oughtrington. She is a governor and Chairman of Trustees at Lymm High School and a governor at Cherry Tree Primary School, Lymm.

She was made a Paul Harris Fellow for community service by Lymm Rotary Club and was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in June 2001 for services to the Community in Cheshire. She has been Chairman of Lymm Parish Council three times and was Mayor of Warrington in 2001.

With Sheila people come first and she is a people’s Councillor rather than a politician.
