Conservatives top polls in Warrington South

Local Conservatives are celebrating victory after topping the polls in Warrington South

Local MP David Mowat stormed to victory in his bid for relection, almost doubling his majority to 2,750 and pulling in 25,928 votes - the highest ever Conservative vote share in the history of the seat.

And there was more good news when the Council ballot papers were counted, with Stephen Taylor gaining the Stockton Heath seat from the Lib Dems and Kath Buckley defeating former Council Leader Ian Marks to win in Lymm.

Jonathan Levy was elected onto Stockton Heath Parish Council after winning a by-election in Lumb Brook Ward and Phil Marshall lost by just a single vote in the by-election for St Thomas' ward.

Overall, the Conservatives came in second place or better in every election held in the Warrington South constituency on 7th May
